Not that your honey wouldn’t send your heart aflutter by downing a cheeseburger at Bartley’s or sharing a pile of wings with you at Buff’s, but we guarantee that one trip to this corner between Harvard and Union squares will leave you both starry-eyed...and raising your glasses for one more round of sangria. You probably won’t be the only romancers there, but once you slip past the bead curtain and into your own private nook, take in the Old World ambiance – glowing candlelight, exposed brick and Iberian tiles, and the matte sheen of the hammered copper ceiling – and order some gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp), queso rebozado con miel (fried Spanish cheese with honey and caramelized onions), or a paella built for two, you’ll be too swept up in the moment to notice. The only chance of the evening backfiring? Bickering over who gets the last bite.
